Clozapine Coordinator — Bring Your Mental Health Expertise to SALHN
This full-time contract role, based at SALHN's Noarlunga Psychosis Team through to August 2027, places an experienced Clinical Nurse at the centre of Southern Adelaide's clozapine program — coordinating safe prescribing, monitoring, and patient support for people living with treatment-resistant schizophrenia. You'll work across a skilled multidisciplinary team, bringing specialist knowledge that directly shapes the quality and safety of care delivered to some of the community's most vulnerable members.
About the role:
Reporting to the Team Manager, the Clozapine Coordinator will oversee the Nurse-Led Clozapine program; support primary clinicians to develop their capacity to manage clients on Clozapine; and support the continuum of care for consumers on Clozapine including health promotion access.
Duties for the role will include:

- Commitment to delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the SALHN Integrated Governance Framework and Consumer Engagement Framework and Plan,
- Ensure compliance with the relevant monitoring systems, SA Health Clinical Guidelines, TGA and PBS Section 100 requirements and CPMS registration,
- Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area,
- Assists and supports the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities
About you:
- Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice,
- Completed the Clozapine Coordinator training course.
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team,
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,
- Demonstrated competence in mental health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards,
- Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
