About Us

Picture a career that’s more than numbers. At the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF), we’re building a world‑class Treasury for South Australia—one that’s innovative, collaborative, and future‑focused.

We’re South Australia’s lead agency for economic, digital, and financial policy outcomes. Our work touches every corner of the state, from enabling frontline services to driving digital transformation. And we do it all with one purpose: to make life better for the people who call South Australia home.

Why This Role Matters

The Government’s primary financial management system Masterpiece, used by most SA Government agencies excluding SA Health, is over 30 years old and nearing the end of its service life. The Finance Reform Program is leading a major initiative to replace it with Oracle Fusion and implement best practice processes. This transformation will significantly change how finance functions are performed across agencies and affect a wide range of stakeholders, including finance, ICT, and operations teams.

This role sits at the heart of a once‑in‑a‑generation financial transformation. Your work will help modernise how government manages assets, strengthen financial integrity, and support better decision‑making across South Australia’s public sector.

About the Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to play a lead role in one of South Australia’s most significant finance transformations.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead asset‑related design and solution development within a major whole‑of‑government finance transformation and Oracle Fusion Implementation
  • Shape standardised, best‑practice financial processes that will be used across SA Government agencies
  • Partner with agencies, program teams and vendors to deliver practical, future‑focused solutions
  • Provide expert advice on asset accounting and practices
  • Drive process improvement, efficiency and system‑enabled automation
  • Contribute to policies, procedures and ways of working that support long‑term reform outcomes

Remuneration

ASO8 ($125,649 - $130,392 p.a.) + 12% Superannuation

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Brings strong experience in complex financial or accounting environments
  • Has extensive knowledge of current accounting policies, processes and requirements across the SA Government.
  • Enjoys solving problems and translating business needs into practical solutions
  • Communicates confidently and builds trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Has experience contributing to, or leading, complex projects or reform initiatives
  • Thrives in collaborative, fast‑paced environments with multiple priorities
  • Is motivated by improving systems, processes and outcomes at scale
