We are currently seeking applications for a Director, Strategy and Business Technology to join Super SA at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a three-year fixed term contract.

Who we are

At the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF), we’re building a world-class Treasury for South Australia – it’s about the people and the impact we create together.

We’re South Australia’s lead agency for economic, digital and financial policy outcomes. Our work touches every corner of the state, from enabling frontline services to driving digital transformation. And we do it all with one purpose: to make life better for the people who call South Australia home.

About your branch

Super SA is a dedicated super fund for current and former South Australian public servants. With nearly 120 years of experience, the organisation delivers strong member outcomes by combining deep sector knowledge with contemporary approaches to service and performance.

The branch operates in a complex superannuation environment and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strategic, data-led and technology-enabled outcomes that support members now and into the future.

Why this role matters

As a senior executive reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this role is pivotal in shaping Super SA’s future, driving strategic direction, organisational performance, and long-term sustainability within a complex and evolving superannuation environment.

The Director leads the development and execution of enterprise-wide strategy, providing trusted, high-level advice to the Board and Executive Leadership Team. The role is instrumental in fostering collaboration across government and the broader sector, while championing innovation and delivering significant strategic initiatives that position Super SA for future success.

What you will do

With oversight of Super SA’s technology and data capability, you will play a key role in ensuring systems and member-facing platforms are aligned to business priorities, regulatory change, and evolving service delivery needs. This includes executive stewardship of the critical partnership with DTF I&T to enable modern, effective and future-ready digital outcomes.

This is a unique opportunity for a strategic and forward-thinking leader to influence at the highest level, drive transformation, and make a lasting impact on a critical public sector organisation.

What you bring

  • Extensive executive experience in strategy, consulting, superannuation, financial services, or government.
  • High level strategic thinking and problem-solving skills that include the ability to generate solutions and provide innovative advice to achieve strategic priorities in alignment with relevant superannuation legislation and policy principles.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of relevant superannuation legislation and senior regulator (APRA/ASIC) standards.
  • Proven leadership in data analytics, reporting, and governance.
