Primary Purpose of Role:
The Development Information and Support Officer is accountable
to the Manager Development Assessment Service and is responsible
for taking the lead role in coordinating and improving
administrative management systems required to support applications
for assessments by the CFS, consistent with legislative
requirements and service standards under the Planning Development
and Infrastructure Act 2016 and (General) Regulations 2017.
The Development Information and Support Officer will do this
by:
- Providing confidential and high-quality administrative
assistance to the Manager, ensuring smooth operations and
efficient use of resources.
- Assisting the Development Assessment Service team by
streamlining workflows and supporting time management,
undertaking various tasks such as word processing, database
maintenance, and travel arrangements.
- Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
from clients and stakeholders, triaging requests, and providing
timely, accurate information on services rendered. When
necessary, guide clients to additional resources or refer them
to appropriate staff members to foster positive
relationships.
- Maintaining a basic understanding of regulatory frameworks
and resources related to planning and building in
bushfire-prone areas, as well as building fire safety in
commercial and industrial environments, to support the team
effectively and deliver accurate customer service.
- Managing the administrative processing of applications and
requests from initiation to completion.
- Improving team efficiency by maintaining accurate
databases, electronic and physical filing systems, generating
baseline assessment documentation, and producing regular
performance reports.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of policies,
standards, processes, templates, and other materials to support
the Development Assessment Service.
- Ensuring the accurate generation, tracking, and reporting
of financial receivables and expenditures associated with
Development Assessment Service activities.
- Undertaking of an emergency support or incident management
role, via a defined ‘operational’ on-call roster, with the
potential to be re-called under emergency situations, to enable
the provision of emergency service activities by CFS to the
community. Whilst undertaking such operational roles,
personnel will be required to work in emergency situations,
which may include day, afternoon, night, or extended
shifts.
Remuneration:
ASO3 - $71,589 - $76,033
