We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused Business Support Officer, HR to support the smooth day-to-day operations of the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium. From welcoming visitors and managing enquiries to assisting with HR administration, WHS coordination, bookings, and business support, this is a dynamic role where no two days are the same.

You’ll work closely with managers and the Business Services Team to deliver efficient administrative support, maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and help ensure corporate compliance and operational excellence across the organisation.

Contract: 
2 year contract

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.
  • You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.
  • Prior to being employed, the successful candidate will be required to provide a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), which is required to be renewed every three years. DEW will cover the cost of renewal.
  • Prior to being employed, the successful candidate will be required to provide a Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years. DEW will cover the cost of renewal.
  • May be required to undertake work outside of the normal hours of work.
  • Located at Goodman Building, Adelaide Botanic Garden, Hackney Rd

A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an original photo identification document sighted and provide a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued within the last 12 months.

Remuneration: 
ASO2, $64,195 min - $67,154 max p.a.
