Overview

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Cooks to join our team at Laura & District Hospital on a casual basis.

The ideal candidates will be responsible for overseeing the production and distribution of food service while upholding high standards of quality and efficiency.  From ordering supplies to plating meals, these roles requires attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to delivering nutritious high quality catering services, we want to hear from you.

Role Responsibilities

• Maintain food service production and distribution to appropriate standards efficiently
• Order non-impress food supplies
• Plate meals
• Menu selections
• Ensure that quality control of food production is maintained to an acceptable standard 

About You

• Proven ability to work well within a team environment
• Ability to work in various settings and relate to all levels of staff
• Flexible with work and rostering
• Strong time management, communication, and cooperative skills
• Experience in cooking and preparing bulk meals
• Experience in preparing and cooking for dietary requirements
• Demonstrated initiative and judgement in daily tasks
• Experience in the use of computer packages e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel
• Proven experience in exercising own judgement and initiative in the day-to-day execution of a position
