WHAT ARE WE OFFERING? 

We are offering a pivotal leadership opportunity where you will play a key role in shaping and strengthening financial performance across BHFLHN. Reporting to the Executive Director Finance, Digital & Business Services, this position provides the chance to deliver high-quality financial business advisory services to diverse directorates, driving informed decision-making and organisational success. You will lead the development of robust financial strategies, oversee budget planning and forecasting processes, and provide expert operational advice to support sustainable outcomes. In addition, you will manage and develop a dedicated team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement while ensuring accurate monitoring, reporting, and analysis of financial performance.

This role allows for flexibility to work from any of our BHFLHN sites by negotiation, or the ability to work remotely, and benefit from the work-life balance this provides    

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

Are you…

  • A qualified finance professional with a relevant degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Economics (or similar), backed by extensive senior financial management experience in complex organisations.
  • A strategic and analytical thinker with strong capability in financial management, reporting, forecasting, and using data, KPIs, and benchmarking to drive performance and informed decision-making.
  • An influential communicator and relationship builder, able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, provide expert advice, and lead teams through change and reform.
  • A proven people leader who can motivate and develop high-performing teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
  • A values-driven professional committed to integrity, confidentiality, and culturally appropriate practice, with an understanding of regulatory frameworks and a willingness to build capability in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

  • Lead the development and implementation of robust financial strategies, policies, and governance practices, ensuring compliance with SA Health and Government requirements while supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Drive effective budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, identifying risks and opportunities, and delivering innovative solutions to enhance financial performance.
  • Provide high-level financial analysis, modelling, and expert advice to support business planning, investment decisions, and the achievement of organisational objectives.
  • Strengthen performance management by delivering timely insights, monitoring key financial indicators, and partnering with stakeholders to improve efficiency, accountability, and service outcomes.
  • Inspire and lead high-performing teams, foster strong stakeholder relationships, and champion a culture of continuous improvement, risk awareness, and customer-focused financial advisory services.
