We are currently seeking applications for multiple Finance Officers to join the Financial Accounting team at the Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of up to 12 months based at both our Adelaide CBD and Port Adelaide locations.

Why This Role Matters

As a Finance Officer within Shared Services SA, the role plays an important part in ensuring South Australian (SA) Government agencies have access to accurate, timely and reliable financial information. By supporting high‑quality financial reporting, reconciliations and client advice, this role helps agencies meet their financial obligations, make informed decisions and deliver outcomes for the SA community.

About the Opportunity

You will support the delivery of accurate and timely financial accounting and reporting services to SA Government agencies, contributing to reconciliations, financial reports and client support. Working in a collaborative environment, you will apply your accounting knowledge and attention to detail while contributing to continuous improvement in service delivery.

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake various financial management services including reconciliations, process accruals, correction journals, and investigate outstanding items.
  • Utilise the financial accounting systems to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
  • Provide financial management advice and ensure financial obligations are met.
  • Maintain and reconcile asset registers, including asset movements, work in progress and revaluations.
  • Contribute to process improvements and finance‑related service delivery reforms.
  • Deliver professional, respectful and consistent customer service in all interactions.

Remuneration

ASO3 ($71,589 - $76,033 p.a.) + 12% Superannuation

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Experience managing competing priorities, meet tight deadlines and work effectively with limited supervision.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to team outcomes.
  • Experience working in a customerfocused environment, with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Sound knowledge of financial management and accounting processes, ideally within a government or complex environment.
  • Sound experience and confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
