Step into a key finance role where you will streamline patient billing operations for the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network. This part-time contract position, ending 14 August 2026, places you at the heart of financial processes that ensure our healthcare services receive proper funding and reimbursement.

You will support the Finance Team Leader in managing complex patient billing data, ensuring accurate submissions to health funds and third parties while maintaining the financial health of our healthcare services across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and input patient billing data for manual submission to health funds and third parties
• Liaise with internal departments, Medicare Australia, health funds and external organisations to ensure effective patient billing and claiming
• Review and analyse payment rejections, preparing strategic resubmissions to maximise revenue recovery
• Generate periodic and ad-hoc reports to support financial decision-making
• Support team members and undertake additional duties to achieve team objectives

What We Seek

• Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service and respond effectively to customer needs
• Experience with computerised accounting, billing systems, receivables and cashiering processes (healthcare preferred)
• Strong digital capability, including Microsoft Office, with accurate and efficient data entry skills
• Well-developed communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage high workloads with limited supervision
• Collaborative team player with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality, safety, quality and equitable service delivery
