THE IMPACT YOU WILL DRIVE AT THE SACE BOARD 

As the Manager, Applications & Quality, you will lead the teams responsible for the development, delivery, quality assurance, and ongoing support of the SACE Board's critical application services. Reporting to the Senior Manager, ICT, you will provide strategic leadership across the application portfolio, ensuring technology solutions are reliable, secure, fit for purpose, and aligned to organisational priorities. 

You will drive the continuous improvement of application services through effective governance, quality assurance, testing, release management, and vendor performance management. Working closely with business leaders and stakeholders, you will ensure technology investments deliver measurable value, improve user experience, and support the delivery of core business outcomes. 

As a key member of the ICT leadership team, you will contribute to the organisation's digital direction, application modernisation agenda, and technology roadmap. You will lead specialist teams and partner with vendors to deliver innovative, sustainable, and high-quality solutions while strengthening organisational capability, resilience, and service excellence. 

This role is critical in ensuring the SACE Board's application ecosystem continues to support current and future business needs, enabling digital innovation, reducing operational risk, and delivering trusted technology services that underpin the organisation's strategic and operational objectives. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise application portfolios and digital service delivery functions, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value and support organisational objectives. 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive application modernisation, service optimisation, and digital transformation initiatives that improve organisational capability, user experience, and operational efficiency. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing application lifecycle, quality assurance, testing, release management, and vendor-delivered technology solutions within complex ICT environments. 
  • Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills, with the ability to build productive partnerships across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and technical advice, translating complex technology issues, risks, and opportunities into practical business-focused outcomes and recommendations. 
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and embedding ICT governance, risk management, compliance, quality assurance, and service management practices that support secure, reliable, and effective technology services. 
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, manage complex dependencies, and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment. 

 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS 

  • Some out-of-hours work and intrastate travel may be required. 
  • Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Working with Children Check in accordance with SACE Board policy. 
  • The role is governed under the SACE Board of South Australia Act 1983.

Remuneration 

ASO8 $130,046 –$134,956 

This is a term vacancy for 3 years with the possibility of extension.
