I graduated from the University of South Australia with a degree in Business and a major in Economics. Around this time, the South Australian Public Sector was advertising graduate vacancies across a range of disciplines. I attended an information session and was impressed with the public sector's commitment to professional development and level of support offered to graduates.
On any given day, I work with my team to match employees to meaningful, long-term employment. My team supports and case manages public sector employees, whose positions have been impacted by reforms or restructures, to find alternative roles. My role involves liaising with the employees, searching for job vacancies, identifying training opportunities, and working with hiring managers.
I love working with a team of committed, professional colleagues who strive to achieve positive outcomes for others, and working with our clients who appreciate the assistance we provide. I enjoy applying career strategies to help my clients and being intellectually challenged in the process.
I get a lot of satisfaction by knowing that my contribution is assisting employees make a positive transition to another position within the South Australian Public Sector. My role allows me to apply a range of skills, and work on topics and subject matters that really interest me.
The opportunity to make a positive contribution to the lives of South Australians is very important to me. I have benefitted from working for a large and diverse employer with the ability to be mobile and change roles and agencies. This has enabled me to experience different perspectives and acquire new skills.
I was born and raised in South Australia and my family lives here. I have positive memories of growing up in South Australia and enjoy seeing my son grow up in the same location. South Australia offers lifestyle and affordability benefits, and I am proud to work for an employer that aims to make the lives of South Australians better.
